The Scientific Conference: A Social, Cultural, and Political History

October 1, 2020 - October 2, 2020

The Scientific Conference: A Social, Cultural, and Political History

Zoom meeting 1 October 2020 (hosted by Birkbeck, University of London)

We are almost half-way through our HERA-funded project on the history of the scientific conference. As part of the project, we had planned regular workshops and conferences to bring together the project team and discuss ideas with scholars working on related questions. The ongoing Covid19 pandemic continues to make it impossible to hold physical meetings. Nonetheless, we would like to share research updates and test ideas with experts in the field.

In this workshop, members of the project team will present their research in short (15 minute) papers, followed by discussion on their case studies and more general discussion on the project overall.
